Asian Influences in Portland, Oregon
If you live in California, like I do, but you enjoy Asian influences, you’ll certainly be able to find some great locations for food, entertainment and travel. The entire West Coast is home to a large Asian culture and to many Asian influences.
One great destination is in Portland, Oregon. Portland recently created an authentic Japanese Garden in honor of its sister city, Sapporo, Japan. When visiting the garden recently, I felt transported to a fairy tale world as I admired the Japanese Laceleaf Maples, the Weeping Cherry trees and the serene Japanese bridges. The garden sits on five and a half acres and is actually divided into five separate gardens.
From this enticing experience, we traveled to the luxury hotel named The Nines. This hotel sits directly on top of the historic Meier and Frank building in downtown Portland. Their rooftop dining including foods with an Asian influence which were simply divine.
For an Asian get-away that doesn’t require you to get too far away – Portland is a great choice.
